Took my kids to go and see Thomas the tank at Wansford kids loved it, on the old steam trains stopped off at fairy meddows on the way back for them to have a run about. #Peterborough #FamilyDaysOut #
Lovely that parts of rail history are preserved. Good for a little visit. I usually enjoy it after going on the steam train.
A great day out for all the family. Grandparents, parents and children all enjoyed themselves. You can see how much effort the team have put in from looking at historical photos. Congratulations to you all
Close to city centre (about 15 minutes walk). Very pretty gardens and lots of picnic areas/tables. There are buttons to press on the train displays and toy train tables to play at. Check opening times/days before you go. They sell drinks and snacks as you go in.l
A really lovely and charming gem of a place. 10 for a family ticket, bring a picnic and spend all day here. Ideal for 0-6; there's little model railways to play with, huge old locomotives to wonder at and a beautiful wildlife area with bee hives, grape vines and even a little waterfall. The staff are all voluenteers and are more than happy to share their love of trains and wildlife with you if you just ask and more than happy for you children to run free in the wildlife area. The place isn't all singing and all dancing; it's quaint, peaceful and full of charm. I've said 0-6 as in my experience kids older than that start to expect more but a train enthusiast of any age will love this place.
