One of those hidden gem museums of local stuff staffed by local people
What a lovely place. Although small they have some great bits of history in there. Very helpful staff as well
Why have I never visited this small but interesting museum before? It is a little gem, there are various rooms dealing with a different subject in each, eg, Farming, Railways from times gone by, not forgetting the poor man incarcerated in a cell, for this museum used to be the local magistrates court!
An interesting visit soaking up the history of Oundle, warmly welcomed, despite arriving before opening time.
Really great. There is a lot more inside than you would guess, the volunteers were great and really got my 4 and 7 year old kids interested. Oh, and don't forget to go upstairs to check on the prisoners! It's a lovely little museum.
