Very friendly and welcoming staff. Excellent quality real ales, the food is as good as you can get for "Pub Grub". Welcoming open fires in the winter and lovely beer garden in the summer. highly recommended.
A vintage inn with great character, superb ambiance, friendly staff and excellent food. Great in winter with open fires and, when the weather is clement, a pleasant beer garden where you can eat alfresco.
Advertised as dog friendly but only 7 tables in the bar were dog friendly. Pub is huge but most people sat in the bar without dogs so we only just got a table. Food average. Chips not crispy. Lobster fishcakes mainly potato. 2 small pieces of broccoli and a few small potatoes. Quite expensive for a very average meal.
A wonderful boxing day lunch. We took my 87 year old mother and the staff were incredibly kind to her. The food was excellent. Thank you.
Loved this place. I would recommend booking in advance at weekends as it is very popular. Although, we didn't book and the lovely staff managed to find us a table on the Saturday and the Sunday (yep, we went again the next day.) The food is lovely and not over priced, and the service was very quick for the number of people that they had eating there. Saying that though, I would've have happily waited as the food was that good.Lovely traditional looking building which suits the location and friendly, warm staff inside. All in all a great place that's definitely worth a visit. I would definitely recommend
